Nervous system Endocrine system The nervous system and the endocrine system regulate and coordinate body functions by sharing in a unique partnership. Jointly they maintain growth, maturation, reproduction, metabolism and human behavior. The hypothalamus of the brain (a part of the nervous system) sends directions via chemical signals to the pituitary gland (a part of the endocrine system).
