Brandywine Tomatoes are considered the most esteemed late 19th century heirloom tomato, named for a stream in Chester County, Pennsylvania. Tomato brandywine have potato-like leaves and large, meaty, reddish-pink fruit, with an indeterminate growth habit. Sow Brandywine tomato seeds indoors 4-6 weeks before last frost date, transplant to 3" pots once they have several true leaves, then transplant outdoors after all danger of frost has passed.
