Stoney Creek is a community in Hamilton, Ontario. It was amalgamated into Hamilton in 2001. Prior to 2001, it was a separate city in the Regional Municipality of Hamilton–Wentworth. According to the 2001 census the population of Stoney Creek was 59,327 up 5.5 per cent from the 1996 census. As of the 2006 census, the population of Stoney Creek had risen to 62,292.
