Our Basic Leotard is perfect for active girls involved in dance and gymnastics. This simple unlined leotard has a moderate scoop back for easy on and off, and ample bum coverage. It has an elastic neckline and leg openings to help get a great fit. The Basic Leotard has your choice of either short or long sleeves.
Two fabric types are available for our Basic Leotard - Cotton Spandex (Lycra) and Double Brushed Polyester Spandex (DBPS). Cotton Spandex is a little thicker than our DBPS, but has the great breathability of cotton. DBPS is super soft and stretchy, however is made from polyester, so may not be an ideal choice for those children who frequently run hot.
HOW TO MEASURE
Leotard sizing for length is highly dependent on a child's torso length, not overall height. We require both the chest and vertical trunk measurements for this item in order to have the best fit possible. Chest measurement is taken around the circumference of the child's chest at the nipple line. Vertical Trunk is measured by starting the measuring tape at one shoulder, running it down through the crotch, and up the child's back to the start of the tape. DO NOT simply measure from shoulder to crotch and double the number - this will result in a leotard much too short for your child. (If you do not have a flexible measuring tape, you can always use string, mark it at the start and stop points, then measure with a traditional ruler.)
Measure the waist at the natural waist - where the crease forms when your child bends over to the side. The hip measurement is taken around the largest portion of the lower body.
